Top 10 Media Lies in the Last Decade

If you still trust the mainstream media in 2024, I have a bridge to sell you. We’re living through a time where there are few media outlets or journalists that still have any shred of credibility.

Arguably one of the biggest cover-ups in modern history has been the media running cover for the Democratic Party, denying what we were all seeing with our own eyes, that Joe Biden’s cognitive decline made him unfit to lead the free world.

Here are 10 other times the media lied:

10. Nick Sandmann

In January 2019, initial media reports suggested that a group of Covington Catholic High School students, particularly Nick Sandmann, were harassing a Native American elder, Nathan Phillips. The incident sparked outrage, with the students receiving death threats and public figures and celebrities condemning the students' behavior. As more footage emerged it became clear the students were on the receiving end of harassment from not only Phillips, who gave multiple conflicting accounts of the incident, but also a group of Black Hebrew Israelites. Sandmann filed defamation lawsuits against several media organizations including CNN, The Washington Post, and NBC which all settled.

9. Kyle Rittenhouse

In August 2020, Kyle Rittenhouse shot three black men, killing two, during riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Well, the three men were white, but you would never know that based on the media coverage. Multiple media outlets labeled Rittenhouse a white supremacist while conveniently omitting the fact that all three men he shot were white. The media also painted Rittenhouse as a vigilante that sought out the conflict and killed the men in cold blood. It wasn't until Rittenhouse's trial that most of the public found out that his victims were white, and video footage showed that Rittenhouse was clearly acting in self-defense. Even after the facts emerged, media outlets were slow to or did not release updates or corrections. Rittenhouse filed defamation suits against several media organizations, several were settled.

8. Very Fine People

Seven years later, the media (and Democrats) are still lying, saying that President Trump called Nazis "very fine people." In a news conference, after the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville in August of 2017, President Trump said that there were, “very fine people on both sides,” referring to the issue of removing a local conferedate statue. In the same statement he said was not talking about the neo-Nazis and white nationalists, and that those groups should be condemned. Despite being debunked, the media continues to lie about this statement.

7. Don't Say Gay Bill

Despite not mentioning the word “gay” anywhere in the bill, partisan Democrats and the media named Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Bill the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. The bill prevents teachers from engaging students, kindergarten through third grade, about sexual orientation, gender identity, or subjects that are not age-appropriate or developmental appropriate. The media jumped on the “Don’t Say Gay” moniker and ran with it.

6. Hands Up, Don't Shoot

There have been more race hoaxes than I can count in the last 10 years. From Jussie Smollett to Bubba Wallace, the media has shown that sticking to the narrative that America is racist is more important than not jumping to conclusions and doing actual journalism. When Michael Brown was shot by police in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014, the media perpetrated the narrative that Brown was a victim of police brutality and that before being shot, he raised his hands and said don’t shoot. The reality was that Brown robbed a convenient store, later punched a police officer through his SUV window, reached for his gun, and, just for good measure, never surrendered by putting his hands up. Many news organizations were forced to retract previous reports but some moved on without any acknowledgement. The hands up, don’t shoot myth is still perpetuated by some to this day.

5. BLM Riots

CNN will never live down their “Fiery but mostly peaceful protests” chyron during the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020 and nor should they. During that summer 19 people were killed at riots that also caused more than $1 billion in damages. The media largely downplayed these events, in many cases refusing to call them riots and instead calling them protests or civil unrest. When the media did cover the violence and looting occurring all over the country, they blamed it on police and systematic racism.

4. January 6

January 6 has done significant damage to the conservative movement and it’s hard to justify the stupidity that was shown on that day. That being said, if January 6 was an insurrection, it was one of the worst attempts at insurrection in history. The coverage the media gave the event, particularly compared to the BLM riots from the year before, painted a clear picture of where the media stands. It’s okay to protest, to riot, as long as it fits our narrative.

3. The Steele Dossier

Russia, Russia, Russia. That is all we heard following the 2016 Election when the media exploded with allegations that Trump colluded with Russia following the release of the Steele Dossier. When the house of cards fell, it turns out that the Clinton campaign was behind the whole thing. After years of peddling the Russia hoax, did the media treat the actual truth like the bombshell it was? Of course not.

2. Hunter Biden's Laptop

The 2020 Presidential Election was rigged. Without getting into voter fraud or irregularities, the media absolutely rigged the election for Joe Biden. In October 2020, when the New York Post exposed Hunter Biden’s laptop, full of compromising photos and videos as well as emails about the Biden family’s corruption, the media systematically covered up the story. News networks labeled the story as Russian disinformation and social media platforms blocked the story from being shared. The New York Times, to this day, won’t admit that the laptop was real and that the story was true.

1. Covid-19

The virus was naturally occurring. Masks will prevent the spread. Lockdowns will stop the spread. Vaccines will prevent you from contracting the virus. There are no side-effects to vaccine. Covid is a desease of the unvaccinated. The lies told by the media about Covid-19 are many. Not only did the media lie, they tried to destroy anyone who dared to challenge them.

The mainstream media cannot and should not be trusted. News organizations and media members have proven over and over that they are more concerned with narratives and playing politics than they are with the truth. As you consume media, be conscious of the biases of the source. Media without bias doesn’t exist and you should be wary of anyone that says otherwise.
